I’ve jumped around from Void to Alpine to FreeBSD but I seem to always land back on OpenBSD.
It is a complete “operating system”. The system includes everything, instead of a glued together mess that Linux can become when you start digging deeper. Yes, performance needs to be tweaked to work well as a daily driver. Yes, some trivial things you can do on Linux become a little more difficult (or sometimes even impossible). But I don’t mind.
The ease of use, completeness of the OS, and stellar documentation just makes it unbeatable in my books
